Services for Mr. Bruce Lehowicz, 77, of Grand Saline, were held Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Bartley Funeral home with Bro. Larry Frondren and Matt Damico officiating. Interment followed in Cottonwood Cemetery, Eustace.

Mr. Lehowicz passed away June 4, 2022, at his home. He was born May 1, 1945, in Utica, New York, to Sigmund and Lucille Scouten Lehowicz. Bruce served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot during Vietnam. He served three tours in Vietnam and was awarded three Purple Hearts. Mr. Lehowicz had lived in Grand Saline since 1978 where he worked for the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s office for 30 years and was a 32 nd Degree Mason and member of Grand Saline Masonic Lodge #1269. He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Athens.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Harley Lehowicz, and two grandchildren, Ronnie Moreland, Jr. and Brett Menasco.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Lehowicz, of Athens/Grand Saline; four daughters, Mary Olp and husband, William, of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Donna Davis and husband, Tommy, of West Palm Beach, Florida, Bobi Martin and husband, Allen, of Fruitvale, and Gwen Busby and husband, Darrell, of Flint; two sons, Matt Damico and wife, Sherry, of Mineral Wells, and Dwain Johnson and wife, Gracie, of Athens; brother, Larry Lehowicz of Dumfries, Virginia; two sisters, Dorothy Lehowicz of Floria, and Patty Lehowicz of Upstate, New York; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Dwain Johnson, Allen Martin, Matt Damico, Bill Farley, Chuck Boatwright, and William Flores.

The family received friends one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
