Services for Betty Smith Waymire, 91, of Grand Saline, were held Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. D’Wayne Williams officiating. Burial was followed at Woodside Cemetery.

Mrs. Waymire passed away Nov. 12, 2023, in Grand Saline. She was born June 28, 1932, in Lindale, to Walter and Sammie Voyles Smith. She spent her early years in Lindale and then moved to Grand Saline in 1964. Betty worked in the medical field until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of Cozby-Germany Hospital Auxiliary, and Over the Hill Friends. Mrs. Waymire was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard Waymire (1989); and one son, Tim Waymire (1999).

Survivors include her son, Clay Waymire and his wife, Kelli, of Grand Saline; and two brothers, Billy Wayne Smith and wife, Pam, of Tyler, and Jimmy Lynn Smith and wife, Rivvie Lou, of Lindale; and she was Grandma to two grandchildren, Tim Waymire of Grand Saline, and Elyssa Waymire of Tyler.

The family received friends one hour prior to services on Nov. 15 at the funeral home.
