Barbara Gay Floyd was born Sept. 5, 1937, in Sanger, California to the late Bennie R. & Theresa Ashley Bleer. She resided in Perris, California for most of her life where her family had come to settle from Oklahoma. Gay was a resident of Van for four years, formerly living in Temecula, California and was a member of First Baptist Church of Edom.

Gay worked in administration for public school districts including Perris and Yucaipa, California. She also performed bookkeeping and DMV work to support the family’s automobile sales businesses. Finally, she worked as the bookkeeper for Perris Valley Aviation Services and its subsidiaries from 1994 to 2005, prior to her retirement.

Later in life, Gay affectionately became known to most as “Momma Gay,” thus blessing her with many children throughout the world. Whether she knew you or not, Gay would greet you with her bright smile and sparkle in her eye. Loved by many, we will cherish the moments and memories of Momma Gay. She certainly will be missed.
