1937-2023

Aubrey Loughmiller, 85, of The Woodlands, passed away on June 30, 2023. Aubrey Ophir Loughmiller Jr. was born on October 14, 1937, in Canton to Jamie Dowdell Loughmiller née Samford and A.O. Loughmiller Sr.

Aubrey attended school in Canton where he played football and volleyball. He graduated in 1956. He attended Tyler Junior College and graduated from North Texas State College with a bachelor’s degree in business. He then served two years in the Navy. Aubrey began working as an underwriter in insurance and later became a technical writer in computers. The final phase of his career was a maintenance technician on machine tools in the petroleum industry.

Aubrey was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Julia Bering, Mary Beth Paul and Jamie Matthews. He was also preceded by his granddaughter, Emilee Grace, and his son, Michael Loughmiller. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Valerie Loughmiller, his sons Matt (Diane) of Canton and Rob (Julie) of Magnolia. He is also survived by grandchildren Draysen, Elias, Zurielle and Tyler Loughmiller, Brandon Fleming and John and Michael Schmuck. Also survived by several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held July 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Church of Spring, 26501 Border St. in Spring.
