Roy Roger ‘Honey’ Moore

Funeral services for Roy Roger Moore, 83, of Wellington, Florida, were held 2 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2025, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point, and was officiated by Pastor David Cartwright. Burial followed at White Rose Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to service time.
Roy Roger ‘Honey’ Moore was born on August 11, 1941, in Wichita Falls to the late Roy Geraldine Moore and Gwendolyn Cavell White Moore.
He graduated from Wichita Falls High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Midwestern State University.
Roger proudly served his country in the United States Army, completing active duty before continuing in the Army Reserves for 28 years.
On April 15, 1961, he married the love of his life, Janice Rosetta Snider. Together, they shared 64 years of marriage built on love, devotion, and family.
Roger worked as a sales associate for Massengill Pharmaceuticals and later with Riker Laboratories (a division of 3M), where he was recognized five times as a Top Producer before retiring.
A skilled and passionate pilot, Roger founded his own flying business, where he trained aspiring pilots and flew corporate jets.
He was also employed with the Federal Aviation Administration as an inspector in Lubbock for 29 years.
An avid outdoorsman, Roger enjoyed both bird and deer hunting. He was also a voracious reader, especially drawn to science fiction and military history.
Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. To his family, he was affectionately known as ‘Honey.’
Roger was a member of Russell Memorial Methodist Church in Wills Point while living in the community.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Steve Moore; his parents-in-law, Herman and Alma Snider; and brothers-in-law, Roger Snider and Ronnie Snider.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Janice R. Moore; daughters, Pam Dolberry of Wellington, Florida, and Karen Hiett and husband, Dan, of Wills Point; son, Roger Alan Moore and wife, Shaughn of Omaha, Nebraska; sister, Joy Moore of Aledo; grandchildren, Ashley Civetti and husband, Matt; Cailan Ellison and husband, Bailor, Chandler Dolberry, Taylor Skelton and wife, Shanna; Hunter Hiett and wife, Kaci; Aley Moore; Savannah Beltran Moore and husband, Stephen; Shannon Allen and husband Rob; Will Moore, Jill Moore and Aidan Moore; and great-grandchildren, Harper Civetti, Haven Civetti, Evelyn Ellison, Daisie Ellison, Lizzy Sanders, Landrie Sanders, Amelia Moore, and Harry Beltran.
Roger will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his strength, generosity, and the love he showed to all who knew him.
