Verner Lee Davidson
1925-2021
Verner Lee Davidson was born Feb. 10, 1925, in Edom, Texas to the late Clinton Irving Davidson and Addie Mae Hobbs Davidson.
He had been a resident of the Van/Edom area most of his life. He had a long career working as a salesman for Warner-Lambert Co. He worked at Hilliard Funeral Home for many years.
He was very active in his community, serving on the Van ISD School Board for many years, and currently serving on the Van ISD Hall of Fame Committee. He was named Distinguished Alumni of Van ISD in 2017, and recognized as a Gentleman of Yesteryear for Van, Texas in 2013. He was a member of Edom United Methodist Church.
Mr. Davidson passed away at the age of 96 on Aug. 25, 2021, in Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandy Thomas; brother, Dale Davidson and great-grandchild, Larken Burr.
Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Betty Jean Davidson of Van; daughter, Patsy Ramirez and husband, Gus of Tyler; sister, Leta Fern Lantrip; son-in-law, Johnny K. Thomas; grandchildren, Scott and Cheryl Thomas, Kristy and Ivan Magnuson, Laura and Kenny Burr, and Nicholas and Jessica Ramirez and great-grandchildren, Reid Thomas, Kylie Thomas, Keaton Thomas, Garrett Burr, Skylar Burr, and Makenlee Burr.
