In-season team and individual stats released by Van Vandal coaching staff during team's bye week

Team and individual statistics through the first eight games of the 2022 varsity football season for the Van Vandals were recently released by the Vandal coaching staff during the team’s bye week.
Coach Jared Moffatt’s Vandals entered their District 8-4A, Division 2, contest against the number one ranked team in the state in District 8-4A, Division 2, the Carthage Bulldogs, in Van’s home season finale Friday, Oct. 28, with an overall record of 5-3 and a 3-1 mark in district play.
So far as team statistics are concerned, the Vandals have run 490 offensive plays and registered 157 first downs.
The Vandals have accumulated 1,386 yards rushing and 1,452 yards passing for a total yardage amount of 2,838 yards.
Van has suffered 11 turnovers (four fumbles lost and seven interceptions). The Vandals have been penalized 59 times for 593 penalty yards.
The Vandals have scored 226 points through the first eight games for an average of 28.25 points per game.
Individually, Vandal sophomore quarterback Jaxon Moffatt has completed 98 out of 164 passes (60 percent) for 1,452 yards, 10 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
Senior running back Garrett Florey led the Vandal running game attack with 517 yards rushing on 101 carries for 5.1 yards per carry and 12 TD’s.
Florey is followed by junior RB Demarcus Stinnett with 86 carries for 379 yards rushing for 4.4 yards per carry and four TD’s.
Senior Brayden Bradshaw has carried the ball 28 times for 165 yards for 5.9 yards per carry and three TD’s.
Senior Beau Barton has carried the ball 28 times for 165 yards for 4.5 yards per carry while Jaxon Moffatt has carried the ball 46 times for 135 yards and three yards per carry.
On the receiving end, Bradshaw led the Vandals with 40 receptions for 456 yards and two TD’s for 11.4 yards per reception.
Before his season came to an end with a broken leg suffered Oct. 7 against Rusk, sophomore Caden Rowe caught 19 passes for 521 yards, four TD’s and 27.4 yards per reception.
Easton Hinch has 12 receptions for 218 yards, two TD’s and 18.1 yards per reception. Stinnett has seven receptions for 102 yards and a TD for 14.6 yards per reception.
Defensively, Barton led the Vandals in total tackles with 70 followed closely behind by Florey with 69, Christian Capuzano with 55, Landon Smith with 48, Brayden Hullum and Tuff Arozamena with 43 each, Cannon Rainey with 41, Reed Parish with 36, Reggie Johnson with 35, Colton Miller with 31, Easton Hinch with 23, Garrett Phillips with 14, and Logan Fattig with 11.
Tackles for Loss: Barton and Hullum with 16 each, and Capuzano with 11.
QB Sacks: Barton with six, Hullum with three, Miller with two, and one each from Florey, Johnson, Arozamena and Smith.
Fumbles caused: Florey and Luke Horton with two each; and one each from Hullum and Miller.
Fumble recoveries: Barton, Parish, Hullum, Arozamena, and Miller, one each.
Interceptions: Florey and Smith, three each; and Parish, one.
QB pressures: Barton with 16, Miller with 15 and Hullum with 11.
Batted passes: Parish with eight, Florey with seven, Rainey with six, Smith with five, Hinch with four, Johnson with three, Capuzano with two, and Gabe Bachert with one.
