Fruitvale ISD Superintendent Rebecca Bain released the following information Jan. 22 regarding the school schedule for Friday, Jan. 23 and Monday, Jan. 26:

“Fruitvale Families,

“In reviewing possible weather conditions and to ensure the safety of our students and staff, the district has decided to close school on Friday, Jan. 23, and Monday, Jan. 26. The district banked extra minutes in our calendar, so students do not have to make up the time later. Multiple weather outlets are giving different conditions for Friday, and we don’t want to get to the end of the day and try to send bus routes out in possible bad weather with our kids. We hope this gives you extra time to prepare for your weekend with your family. Stay safe and warm. We will see everyone on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
