On Sunday, August 18, the main lanes of I-20 at FM 859 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning to allow bridge construction to continue.

During this time, traffic will be redirected to the frontage roads and then back onto I-20.

Beginning Thursday, Aug. 22, detours on FM 859 will begin as the existing bridge will be closed to traffic. The demolition of the existing bridge is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 7.

Motorists are reminded to mind their speed, watch for crews in the work zone, and eliminate all distractions while driving.
