VZC Sheriff’s Office issues scam alert

Van Zandt County Sheriff Joe Carter released information on a scam that is currently happening in VZC. “The Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a scam circulating in VZC,” emphasized Carter.

Several roads closed due to storm

Van Zandt County Director of Emergency Management Vicki McAlister shared that there were several road closures in Van Zandt County as a result of a storm that went through the area April 26. “We had several road closures on Friday (April 26) into Saturday (April 27) and there are still some roads in the county that are impassible,” said McAlister through a statement released April 29.

Early voting totals released in city, school elections

VZC to apply for courthouse restoration grant

Van Zandt County Judge Andy Reese was authorized by the VZC Commissioners Court to apply for the 2024-25 Texas Historical Commission Courthouse Grant. The grant would total $9.5 million.
