Canton man dies in accident on SH 64

A one-vehicle accident Dec. 27 on State Highway 64, five miles east of Canton, took the life of a Canton resident, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Education/Media & Communications Sgt. Chris Williamson. The accident occurred at 3:59 p.m. Dec. 27.

City of Van preparing for eclipse event in April

With the anticipated partial and total solar eclipse event scheduled to be viewed in Van Zandt County and surrounding areas just three months away, the City of Van has announced plans to celebrate during the weekend of Friday, April 5 through Monday, April 8 at McMillan Park. The actual day of the eclipse is scheduled for the afternoon hours of Monday, April 8.
