The Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office released the following arrest report from Dec. 26-Jan.

The Early Voting period for the upcoming March 5, 2024, Primary Election in Van Zandt County has been announced by the VZC Clerk’s office. All Early Voting will take place at the VZC/Sarah Norman Library in Canton beginning Feb.

At the beginning of the Jan. 3 regular meeting of the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court, VZC Texas A&M Extension Service Family Health Community Agent Amy Shively presented VZC Pct. 1 Commissioner Chad LaPrade with a certificate recognizing him for his recent participation in the commissioners’ court Leadership Academy Class, Session 2.

With the anticipated partial and total solar eclipse event scheduled to be viewed in Van Zandt County and surrounding areas just three months away, the City of Van has announced plans to celebrate during the weekend of Friday, April 5 through Monday, April 8 at McMillan Park. The actual day of the eclipse is scheduled for the afternoon hours of Monday, April 8.
