WPISD adopts four-day instructional week

Wills Point ISD has largely been on an island by itself when it comes to producing and adopting an instructional calendar, maintaining a practice of early release days each Stemmingfromtheuncertainty brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, the move initially allowed for campuses to be deep cleaned without the large on-campus presence midweek while also providing a mental health break for both students and staffers.
The Wills Point ISD Board of Trustees approved the adoption of a four-day instructional week for the 2023-’24 school year at their April 11. The district becomes the first in Van Zandt County to adopt such a schedule. Courtesy photo
