The Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office released the following arrest report from Dec. 27-Jan.

After being closed for almost three years due to COVID and a death in the family, The Old Firehouse re-opens with a new season for the new year. With the loss of his beloved wife Judy to Alzheimer’s, Jeff Gottesman has dedicated the stage to her memory, as she was instrumental in creating the venue which celebrated 11 seasons prior to her passing.

An update on repairs in the Van Zandt County District Courtroom was given to the VZC Commissioners Court during a special called meeting Dec. 27.

City of Van Economic Development Corporation (EDC) Executive Director Tammy Weidman recently released information regarding upcoming events in the city. The ‘3rd Thursdays with Erin Picking Circle’ will not take place during the month of January but will resume from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

One-third (33 percent) of U.S. home fires involving Christmas trees occur in January. With this post-holiday fire hazard in mind, the National Fire Protection Association strongly encourages everyone to keep the festive memories and remove the hazards by disposing of Christmas trees promptly after the holiday season.
