Janet Lee McEnturff of Edgewood, was a woman of boundless determination, loyalty, and faith. She died on January 5, 2024, in Tyler, surrounded by her husband and children.

She was born to Kenneth and Mary Preston on March 19, 1951 in Paris, Texas. She married the love of her life, James Ray McEnturff on May 16, 1977. She retired in August 2012 after serving as City Secretary for Edgewood. Through it all, her faith in Jesus was a cornerstone of her character, providing comfort, guidance, and purpose. Janet was a force to be reckoned with. She would try anything once, and she excelled at everything she set her mind to.

Her fun-loving spirit kept her busy exploring the world on cruises, road-tripping to Colorado, and camping in the peacefulness of nature. At the core of Janet’s being was a fierce love and loyalty toward her family. She spoke about family with beaming pride at every opportunity. Whether it was pursuing her dreams, overcoming obstacles, or supporting her loved ones, she approached everything with tenacity and courage.

Janet was greeted in heaven by her daughter, Brandi Michelle McEnturff, her father, Kenneth Ray Preston, and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her husband, James Ray McEnturff , daughter and son-in-law, Danyelle and Phillip Milligan; son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Brandi McEnturff; daughter Amber McEnturff; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her mother, Mary Preston; sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Rick Gaddis; brother, Don Preston, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held for family. May she rest in eternal peace, her legacy of determination, love, and faith continuing to inspire and uplift those whose lives she touched.
