Audrey passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, in Galveston. Audrey Eileen Lyster was born on September 1, 1926, in Harrow, England to parents George William Lyster and Maude Alice Ives Lyster. She met and married Aubrey Lee Yarbrough while he was serving in the U.S. Army in England during WWII. After his discharge, he returned to his home in Edgewood, where she joined him, and they made their home.

During this union, their three daughters, Jennifer, Marilyn and Donna were born. Mrs. Yarbrough was a mother and housewife while her daughters grew up, often providing day care for other children. After her daughters were grown, she was employed as a teacher’s aide with the Edgewood I.S.D., retiring from there. ‘Miss Audrey’ was truly loved by all of her students. Audrey was a long-standing member of the First Baptist Church of Edgewood, serving as a teacher in the beginners Sunday School class and Bible School. As her health started declining, she resided with her youngest daughter, Donna Edwards, and relocated to Angleton in 2018.

She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Jennifer and John Moore, Marilyn and Paul Johnson, and Donna and Phil Edwards; grandchildren, Jason Moore and wife, Stephanie; Jessica Ann Moore Bass and husband, Nathan; Jamie Johnson Robbins and husband, Mark; Brad Johnson, Jared Johnson, Amanda, Alyssa and Andrew Edwards; great grandchildren, Blake and Cooper Moore, Audrey and Wiley Bass, Preston Robbins, Remy Johnson, Kye, Eli, Sophie and Luca Johnson.
