A funeral service was held for Sherron Lee Wilkerson, 78, of Canton, on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020, at Eubank Funeral Home, officiated by Sharon Walker.

Sherron passed away on Nov. 15, 2020, in Athens, Texas. She was born on Nov. 18, 1941, in Houston to Roy Lee Harvey and Eva Mae Ratican Harvey.

As a child she was a bit of a tomboy. She spent a lot of her young life in the homes of her older sisters, Laura Fay Langley and Rosella Jane Ballew. She developed more of a brother/sister relationship with her cousins, Debby Langley, Kenneth and David Stevenson.

She met and fell in love with William Kenneth “Pete” Wilkerson and they were married 56 years. Sherron worked 15 years at Reserve Life Insurance Co. and then worked for the U.S. Treasury from which she retired. Sherron was able to work fulltime but also keep everything running smoothly at home. She loved animals and enjoyed gardening. Many people didn’t know that she was a talented artist and sold many of her oil paintings in the Dallas area. Sherron loved the Lord and made sure her children had a relationship with Him, too. She was a good, loving mother and wife.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Pete” Wilkerson; her parents, Roy and Eva Harvey; and her two sisters, Laura Langley and Rosella Ballew.

She is survived by her son, Richard Wilkerson; daughter, Casey Hardin; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and 19 great-grand-children. There were all beautiful in her eyes.

Interment was at Palestine New Addition Annex Cemetery in Palestine.
