James ‘Jim’ Perry

Funeral services for James “Jim” Olin Perry, 79, of Wills Point, were held Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Bright Star Cemetery.

James passed away Feb. 1, 2020, in Wills Point.

James Olin Perry was born Jan. 17, 1941, in Durant, OK, to Roy Hickman Perry and Ruby Anna Gray Perry. He married Sharon Lee Hale May 27, 1960, and they made their home in Dallas, where he served in the Army National Guard for several years. Jim was employed as a professional truck driver with Jack Cooper Transports, retiring at the age of 59, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He and Sharon moved to Wills Point in 1984. He was of the Methodist faith and a Master Mason. Jim enjoyed fishing and deer and turkey hunting.

He is preceded in death by his son, Landon Perry; brother, William Eugene Perry; and sister, Deloris Ann Bussey.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sharon Perry of Wills Point; son, Scott Perry of Wills Point; brother, Kenneth Wayne Perry and wife, Gwen, of Durant, OK; grandchildren, Lindsey Perry of Mesquite and Brandon Perry of Mesquite; and many other relatives and friends.
