Eleanor May Nafzgar Sliester was born March 23, 1925, in San Fernando Valley, Calif., to the late Cleo Clayson Nafzgar and Olene Eleanor Martin Nafzgar.
She had been a resident of Van since 1988, formerly living in California. She was a homemaker and known for always wearing her hat wherever she went. She belonged to various Winnebago travel clubs and enjoyed oil and watercolor painting.
Mrs. Sliester passed away at the age of 95 on Dec. 25, 2020, in Van. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sliester.
Survivors include her son, Jim Sliester; daughter and son-in-law, Carolanne and Dave DePew; grandchildren, Jenni Biesheuvel and Jim, Walker Farnsworth, Rhianna DePew, Lauri Gonzales and Bobby, and Josh Hopkins and Lindsey; numerous great-grandchildren, including Evie Gonzales, Josh Jr., Ian, Noah, Isaiah, and Aaliyah Hopkins; nephew, Rich Nafzgar and Marie; and nieces, Marine Timmsen and Charlie and Paulett Mossman.
