Funeral services for Bobby Joe Morgan, 87, of Canton will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at Eubank Funeral Home with Bro. David Christine officiating.

On the afternoon of Jan. 3, 2020, Bobby Joe Morgan of Canton, went to his eternal home with his Savior, Jesus.

Bobby was the sixth of eight children born to Jimmy Allen and Vada Sally Morgan in 1932 in Corinth Community, Texas. In 1953, while working at Circle T Meats, he caught a glimpse of a beautiful new coworker across the room and declared to all his colleagues within earshot that he had seen the woman he was going to marry. A few months later he married Clara V. Martin and began a marriage that thrived for 66 years.

After proudly serving in the Army from 1953-1955, Bobby worked as a plant manager at Sunny Jim Peanut Butter and Peter Pan Peanut Butter. He retired once, but it didn’t suit him, so he took up a second career as a cabinet maker. His loyalty, work ethic and attention to safety was unmatched.

Bobby would say the accomplishment he was most proud of was his family. He and Clara raised two children, Terri Lynn Caster and Rhonda Gayle Biggs. He loved his sons-in-law, David Caster and Jeff Biggs, and his granddaughters, Kimberly Caster Morgan and Ashley Biggs Ashcraft. His great-grandchildren, Austin Ward, Micaiah Ashcraft, Eleanor Ashcraft, Adeline Ashcraft, and Silas Ashcraft also brought him tremendous joy. Just looking at a picture of his great-grandchildren would bring a smile to his face and light to his eyes.

When he retired for good, he and Clara moved to Oakland Community and lived in the house he helped his father build decades before. He loved to sit in his chair by the window and tell stories about cars. He was known for correctly guessing the make and model of car just by the sound.

Bobby leaves a legacy of integrity, determination, and love. He spent his life providing for others, especially his family. While he is deeply missed, we live in hope and wait expectantly to see him again.

He is survived by his wife, Clara; sister-in-law Shirley Morgan; daughter. Rhonda (Jeff); and grandchildren Kimberly, Ashley (Karl); and five great-grandchildren.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Terri (1955-2001), and all his siblings, Jim Morgan, Johnny Morgan, Winona Poole, Earnest Ray, Billy Morgan, Ralph Morgan, and Peggy Priddy.

A visitation with the family will be held from 6-8: p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, at Eubank Funeral Home located at 27532 State Hwy 64, Canton, TX, 75103.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Oakland Cemetery Association, Attn. Ruth Lundsford, P.O. Box 1054 Canton, TX 75103 or The Alzheimer’s Association.
