D’Andrea pledged to remain on the PUC until Abbott names a replacement. In the announcement Abbott said in part, “Texans deserve to have trust and confidence in the Public Utility Commission, and this action is one of many steps that will be taken to achieve that goal.”

The secluded lodge overlooked a sweeping alpine valley sporting not one lake but two, both brimming with trout. A perfect place to wine and dine his big shot clients, whilst “roughing it”. But most of all, the young attorney wanted to impress his Dad with his new estate. So, he had Dad flown in from Texas on a charter jet for a fishing weekend.

On the heels of the monumental winter blast of snow and frigid temperatures that just passed, sunny days should be welcomed with open arms. These sunny days can provide a wonderful diversion from learning all day in front of a computer or spending hours in school behind a mask. I’m not suggesting students skip learning to play in the sun. Instead, I’m suggesting discovering ways to incorporate learning outside in the sunshine.

Read moreMama is gone from this world joining many others like our dad, a nephew I hardly got to know, a couple of sainted grandmothers, my favorite aunt, and several old friends. I’ve noticed that the older I get the more folks I have on the other side. But my family and I fully expect to be reunited with these folks, and we don’t expect the time to be very long. Whether by rapture or by death, our time on this world is always short.
