Eaglettes roll past Quinlan Ford, 60-35

The Canton Eaglettes put together a dominant effort at home Nov. 28, almost doubling up the visiting Quinlan Ford Lady Panthers 60-35 in non-district play.

Canton put the game out of reach early against the overmatched Lady Panthers lighting up the scoreboard for 19 points during the first quarter to build up a 14-point lead.

The margin would only widen as play continued as Canton outpaced Ford 9-5 in the second quarter to take a 28-10 lead into the half.

The Eaglettes continued their dominance in the second half, topping Ford 16-13 in the third quarter and 16-12 in the fourth quarter to close out the 25-point win.

Canton finished with four players in double-digits, including Mattie Tullos with a game-high 14 points, Hannah Manry and Kenley Nixon with 12 and Ashley Wood with 10. Kyndall Nilius added seven points, Maddie Welty scored three points and Rachel Cade scored two.

Ford was led in scoring by three players as Ariel Forsyth, Ashley Todd and Braleigh Deaver each put in six points.

The Eaglettes were scheduled to participate in the Winnsboro Tournament Nov. 30-Dec. 2 before traveling to Tyler to take on Grace Community Dec. 5. The next Eaglette home game will be Dec. 12 against Ennis.
