Lone Oak Police Force Resigns

All employees of the Lone Oak Police Department have turned in their resignations to the city, including the chief, paid officers and reserve officers.

The city secretary has also resigned.

Lone Oak Mayor Lisa Willis said, "The officers and the city secretary have resigned and we are accepting applications at this time."

Mayor Willis also said that further comment could not be made at this time due to the advice of the city’s attorney but offered to make a statement available later.

Police Chief Neal Dent could not be reached at press time.

Law enforcement coverage of the city is being provided by the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office at this time.
