Gene Griffith
Services for Gene Griffith, 96, Wills Point, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel, Wills Point, with Rev. Robert Acker officiating.
Graveside service were at 1 p.m. at Grove Hill Memorial Park, Dallas.
Mr. Griffith died April 26, 2008, at his residence.
He was born January 18, 1912, in Granbury to Howard E. and Margie Muncy Griffith. He grew up in Dallas. During World War II, he served as an Electrician’s Mate 1st Class in the United States Navy. He married Frances Acker in 1939. He was employed by Fisk Electric Company in Dallas, retiring at the age of 65. He was a member of IBEW Local #59 for 68 years. After retirement, he was employed by J & D Feed Store in Wills Point. He was a former member of Colonial Baptist Church in Dallas and was presently a member of Faith Baptist Church in Quinlan. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #12 A.F. & A.M in Dallas for more than 50 years. He raised cattle, and had lived in Wills Point for the past 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Zack Griffith and Harry Griffith.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Frances Griffith, Wills Point; daughters: Janet Kay Griffith Gilmore, Dallas, Carol Gene Griffith Brewer, and husband Ricky, Wills Point, and Donna Leatha Griffith, Plano; brothers, Clarence Griffith, and Weldon Griffith, and wife Wanda, all of Dallas, Oliver Griffith, and wife Margaret, Alto; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
