Autumn Stroll Plans Finalized This Week
The Autumn Stroll committee, co-chaired by Denise Ross and Robbi Stewart, has finalized plans for the chamber’s "Roaring 20’s on the Brick Streets" Autumn Stroll during a meeting held Thursday, August 14.
The stroll will begin at 5 p.m. in five separate locations. Groups of up to 50 will be treated to hors d’oeuvres at 18 separate locations, entertainment and historical information regarding Wills Points oldest buildings. The evening will conclude with a dinner theatre show provided by The Talent Box.
The historical buildings on the stroll, and the presenters are as follows: Century 21, Sherry Scott Moore; Majestic Theater, Karl Lybrand; Sweethearts, Larry Turner; Heckman Investments, Betty Manning; Fairway Shoes, Glynn Ellis; The Green House, Ozelle Wilcoxson; The Cutting Company, Johnny B. Malouf; Cody Sherrard Insurance, Buzz Craft; Dr. Kimberly Neiman, Felix Massey; Country Junction Quilt Store, Lynda Frazier and Cozby-Germany, and Gwen Anthony.
These businesses will also provide snacks, hors d’ oeuvres and refreshments along the way: Faye’s Beauty Shop, Wills Point Municipal Court, Wills Point Medical, Cash Relief Pawn, Linda’s Likings, Radio Shack, The Spa and The Body Shop.
The evening will conclude with a dinner theater presentation at the chamber building. The meal will be chicken spaghetti, salad and dessert, and the play will be "Murder at the Speak EZ", presented by The Talent Box.
Entertainment along the stroll will include jazz performances by the Wills Point band instructors (Kim Manuel, saxophone; John Young, trumpet; Jenny Bartley, clarinet; Mike Bartley, drums; Ken McClellan, bass guitar, and Josh Hawks, keyboard); Joy ‘N’ Harmony (Vicky Bradley, Fran Carter, Lettie Clark, and pianist Susie Schoolcraft) and the Stepz Dancers.
There will also be a drawing of two $100 gift certificates for Home Depot, provided by CAT Commercial Concrete, and 20" TV provided by Crestwood Assisted Living.
Tickets for the event are $15 apiece, or a table of eight for $120.
Tickets include a tote bag with screen-printing by Outside The Box. Tickets may be purchased at the chamber of commerce.
