Rodeo Set For July 18-19

The Wills Point Volunteer Fire Department and the Wills Point Roping and Riding Club are working together to sponsor the 39th Annual Wills Point UPRA Rodeo.

The rodeo will be held at the Allred Arena on Commerce, west of downtown Wills Point. It is a three-day event, with festivities and Slack Night beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

The main rodeo will take place on Friday and Saturday, beginning at 8:30 p.m. both nights. Events will include calf roping, bronc riding, barrel racing, team roping, bull riding and more.

There will also be a performance by an area horseback drill team and a kid’s calf scramble.

The Will Cook Flying C Rodeo Company is bringing the stock and pickup men for the event.

The rodeo will serve as a fundraiser for the Wills Point Volunteer Fire Department and the Wills Point Riding and Roping Club.
