Services for Twanda Morris, 94, Ben wheeler, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 31, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton, with Bro. Doyle Metcalf officiating.
Graveside services were at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at Glenn Cemetery, Hood County.
Mr. Morris died July 28, 2008, in Tyler.
He was born April 28, 1914 in Erath County to Beverly H. and Alice Griffin Morris. He was a member of Assembly of God Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 60 years and a member of the Sons of the Confederates. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after more than 30 years of service. He was a resident of the Dallas area for many years prior to retiring to the Edom and Ben Wheeler area. He was an honorary deacon at Flatwood Assembly of God Church. He worked hard building the church parsonage and school.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Labeta Elizabeth Morris; daughter, Marrietta Rozelle; and 13 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include daughters, Othella Pledger Isom, Callender Lake, and Labeta Faye Pledger Matheny, Ben Wheeler; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 38 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, John Morris, Dallas.
Pallbearers included Travis Isom III, Nathan Price, Twanda Paul Rozelle II, Christopher Rozelle, Michael Harrell and Christopher Wright.
