Bascum Westmoreland

Services for Bascum Westmoreland, 90, Fort Worth, were held July 21, at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel, Colleyville.

Burial was in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.

Mr. Westmoreland died July 17, 2008.

He was born August 13, 1917 in Grand Saline to F.F. and Hattie Hollis Westmoreland. He was a veteran of World War II, serving under Gen. George Patton, and was a Bronze Star recipient. He served in Italy, France, Belgium and Germany with the 90

th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. He retired from Lockheed Martin in 1982. He was a member of the Decatur Avenue Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Warren, Earl, Emmit, Herbert, Wyman, Alton and Louie; and sisters, Lottie Westmoreland Churchwell and Ellen Westmoreland Plunk.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Ellen; daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and David Fowler, and Jeanette and Victor Vasquez; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
