Preston Mott 1935-2017

Funeral services for Preston “Curly” Mott, 81, of Terrell, were held Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Mike Thomas, Mark Anderson, and Ed Waynick officiating. Interment followed at Union Grove Cemetery north of Wills Point.
He transitioned from his life and embraced the arms of Jesus at 7:28 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas.
He was born on Dec. 30, 1935 in Wills Point, the son of Albert Clinton Mott and Josie Teel Mott. He accepted the Lord into his life in 1951 and was a member of the Baptist Church.

He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1955, where he met his beloved, Mary. They married on Dec. 20, 1962. He retired from the United States Marine Corps in 1974. During his service, he served three tours in the Vietnam War.

He was a graduate from Henderson County Junior College where he received an Associates Degree in Accounting.

He worked at Terrell State Hospital for 23 years, where he served as the property clerk. He also worked for B&B Security Company for 15 years.

He was a member of Pop-a-smoke Combat Helicopter Association, Vietnam Vets, Marine Corp Heritage Society, lifetime member of the Terrell Rifle and Pistol Club, National Rifle Association and Texas State Rifle Association.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Clinton and Josie Mott and a great-grandson, Jason Wyatt Mott 1-31-2012/4-21-2012.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Mott, of 55 years; son, Clint Mott and wife, Lourdes; six grandchildren, Brandon and wife, Casey, Matthew, Vanessa and husband, David, Jesse, Dylan, and Lisa; seven great-grandchildren, Brookelynn, Avery, Bridget, Abby, Bella, Zylee and Kameron; sister, Dimple Thomas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers were Roy Plumlee, Bob Ewart, David Burke, Lee Koning, Kenneth Stutts, and J.D. Watson.
