Lady Dogs wrap up non-district play

The Edgewood Lady Dogs wrapped up non-district play on the road last week, taking on Caddo Mills Sept. 1, Palestine Sept. 5, and competing at the Brownsboro Tournament Aug. 31 and Sept. 2. Edgewood finished the week going 6-2 overall, including 5-1 during their stay at the Brownsboro Tournament.

The Lady Dogs opened pool play at the Brownsboro Tournament in impressive fashion, sweeping Brook Hill Guard (25-9, 25-17), Athens Lady Hornets (25-13, 25-13) and Brownsboro Bearettes (25-22, 25-19) Aug. 31.

Edgewood hit the pause button on tournament play Sept. 1, traveling to Caddo Mills to take on the Foxes. Caddo Mills would get the better of Edgewood in the match, outlasting the Lady Dogs 25-23, 19-25, 25-23, 19-25, 15-12 thriller.
