Lady Mustangs race into Regional Semifinal round

The Martins Mill Lady Mustangs pushed their overall season record to a staggering 23-2 last week, tallying their third consecutive run-rule shortened playoff win in the Regional Quarterfinal round against Hawkins.

After rolling to a perfect 10-0 mark in District 20-2A play, the Lady Mustangs tallied a 20-0 five-inning win over Overton in the bi-district round, a 14-0 five-inning win over McLeod in the Area round and most recently, a 12-2 win over Hawkins May 13.

Leadoff Calli Camacho opened play by tripling, coming home to score the first run of the night on the very next batter courtesy of a Jessie Camacho sacrifice. Abbie Orrick, the third batter in the Lady Mustangs' potent lineup, connected on a home run, doubling the lead to 2-0. Things would continue to go in Martins Mill's favor as Leah Morgan would cap the first inning scoring with a 2 RBI double to extend the lead to 4-0.
