Photo by David Kapitan Edgewood's Turner Bannister opened District 12-3A play with a no-hitter against Alba-Golden while also going 2/4 with a home run, an RBI, four stolen bases and three runs scored in games against the Panthers and Grand Saline Indians.

The Edgewood Bulldogs officially opened District 12-3A play last week, hosting Alba Golden March 24 before traveling to take on rival Grand Saline March 28.

The Bulldogs came away with wins in both games, getting a no-hitter from Turner Bannister to down the Panthers 10-0 before jumping out to an early advantage and never looking back in an 8-3 win over the Indians.

Turner Bannister was the story of the game against Alba Golden, striking out 11 Panther batters over five no-hit innings for Edgewood.

Bannister also helped his own cause at the plate, going 1/1 with a home run, an RBI, three walks, two stolen bases and two runs scored.

Other offensive leaders for the Bulldogs included Trever Smith going 2/3 with a double, 2 RBI and a run scored, Keaton Seale going 2/3 with an RBI and a run scored, Kason Grant going 2/3 with a triple, 2 RBI and a run scored, Cooper Hill going 1/3 with a run scored and Tye Elie going 1/2 with two runs scored.
