Martins Mill ISD recognizes students, discuss fundraisers

It is officially fall festival season at Martins Mill ISD.  During the district’s monthly board meeting, the board discussed fundraisers for Martins Mill ISD.

The fundraiser put on by the Martins Mill Parent-Teacher organization is in full swing, with the elementary school office full of raffles and giveaways.  Each class nominates a king and queen to represent their class.  With the raffles becoming more competitive each year, every class hopes to bring in the most money they can to help the PTO.   “Please come by the elementary office to see the assortment of items they have and help support a great cause that benefits students and faculty,” PTO members said.

During the principal’s report, October students of the month were recognized.  For elementary, Dolores Garcia and Juan Carlos Morales were awarded.  Junior high student Stacey Adams and high school student Sammy Sierra were also recognized. High school attendance is at 98 percent with 227 students enrolled.   Also acknowledged during the meeting was high school student Riley Alsobrook for his commendation in the National Merit Scholar Program.
