Martin's Mill ISD board of trustees held the regular monthly meeting June 13.

During the principals reports the board was informed that junior high has completed summer school and elementary will begin summer school soon.  The Farm Bureau presented elementary with $300 to purchase iPads.

High school state UIL results were also presented.  The tennis doubles team received a bronze medal, Noah Ingram placed sixth in computer science, and Riley Alsobrook was third in literary criticism.  Martin’s Mill ISD summer hours for staff are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday  and the superintendent is available from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

The End of Course test results were released but STAAR test results will not be released until July.

The old gym renovation is underway and workers are currently painting and will soon install new insulation in the ceiling.  The renovation is on schedule to be completed before the beginning of the school year, Superintendent  James Oliver said.

Five members will attend school board training in San Antonio this week.

During the consent agenda, the board approved the May minutes and budget update.  Also approved were the salary scales and stipends for the next year.  $500 retention checks for staff that stay with the district and the transfer renewals were also approved.
