Funeral services for Sharon Blazer, 75, of Wills Point, were held Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Russell Memorial United Methodist Church in Wills Point. Burial followed at White Rose Cemetery under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Sharon passed away at her home in Wills Point on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Sharon Lennette Smith was born Nov. 20, 1939, in Dallas to Charles and Lena Roberts Smith. She grew up in the Dallas area and attended W.W. Samuels High School in Dallas. She married the love of her life, George Blazer in 1958. They made their home in Dallas until moving to Wills Point in 1973. She was employed by Southland Life Insurance Company for a while and then opened her own business, the Outpost Western Store in Wills Point in 1976, she also owned and operated Sharon’s Shirt Shack in Wills Point. She later worked with her husband, George at Chaparral Painting Co. and retired in 1992. Sharon loved spending time with people. She enjoyed playing cards, was part of a Skip-Bo group and the Van Zandt Country Club Bridge group. She also loved to travel. Sharon was a member of Eastern Star and Russell Memorial United Methodist Church in Wills Point. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lena Smith; husband, George Blazer; infant daughter, Kerrie Blazer; and sisters, Dean Martin, Eunita Bailey and Mitzi Cullen. She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Kay Bradshaw and husband, David and Kelly Lynn Teel and husband, Scott all of Wills Point; grandchildren, Matthew Ryan Bradshaw, Brett David Bradshaw, Jordan Scott Teel and Austin Jared Teel, all of Wills Point; sisters-in-law, Ethel Mayle and husband Glenn, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Christine Tannheimer and husband, Dewayne of San Diego, Calif., and Georgene Blazer and husband John, of Tucson, Ariz.; and many other relatives and friends.
